The eHealthDC team is made up of experts committed to helping enhance, expand, and strengthen the digital health infrastructure for providers in the District of Columbia.

We Know the District

Assisting the Community Since 2010

eHealthDC was first launched in 2010 as the DC Regional Extension Center, which helped District primary care providers adopt electronic health records to improve patient care outcomes and meet CMS requirements for Meaningful Use of health IT.

Since 2017, we have worked in partnership with DHCF to continue supporting eligible Medicaid providers to improve care coordination through its health IT technology initiatives.

We Have a History of Success

Promoting Interoperability/ Meaningful Use

(2017- 2022)

The eHealthDC team provided free technical assistance to support eligible Medicaid providers in adopting and utilizing certified electronic health record systems and health IT tools to better improve patient care coordination. Our team also assisted providers with attesting for available incentives through DHCF's State Level Registry system.

COVID-19 Telehealth Emergency

(2020-2021)

During the height of the pandemic and in support of the District's continued efforts to combat COVID-19, laptops with data plans and HIPAA-compliant telehealth licenses were provided free of charge to eligible Medicaid providers to support their practice's telehealth operations.

Health IT and HIE Strategic Planning

(2017- Present)

To support DHCF in its capacity as the State Health IT Coordinator, eHealthDC convened diverse stakeholders – including patients, health systems, public health, social services, community-based organizations, District government, and payers – to provide input for the health IT and HIE roadmap.

ONC Regional Extension Center

(2010-2014)

eHealthDC helped 1,000 eligible primary care providers adopt EHR systems and meet Stage 1 Meaningful Use requirements.

Our experts in EHR implementation, workflow, and interoperability have helped hundreds of eligible Medicaid providers adopt and implement EHRs, telehealth technologies, and and achieve DC HIE connectivity.

Our team leads environmental scans, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning processes for DHCF. We also support the District’s health IT plan and roadmap.
